A Television Special About Alcohol Dependence Symptoms Leads To Dismal Thoughts About A Woman's Excessive And Hazardous Drinking

Sharon had been engaging in abusive drinking behavior since her sophomore year in college. Now, four years later, she drank more than ever. One Sunday evening when she was feeling a bit run down, Sharon made up her mind to stay home, chill out, and watch television. While searching for a program to watch that would grab hold of her interest, she at once became attracted to a special program about young adult and adolescent drinking troubles.

The commenter discussed the difference between alcohol abuse and alcoholism and then discussed the subject of alcoholic symptoms and alcoholic behavior. When the narrator discussed an individual's symptoms of withdrawal and some of the more familiar alcohol addiction symptoms and signs that alcohol addicted individuals manifest, Sharon got quite troubled because it virtually seemed as if the narrator was talking specifically to her.

After watching the television special, Sharon made a promise to herself that she would call her health care provider the following morning and schedule an appointment to discuss her abusive and unhealthy drinking.

When the following morning arrived, true to her word, Sharon called her physician and scheduled an appointment. While she was waiting for the day of her appointment to arrive, she went on the web and did a search for alcoholism symptoms. Especially noteworthy were the following symptoms or signs: increasing irritability, major relationship and work-related problems, sleep problems, making excuses to drink at virtually every opportunity, and sneaking extra drinks before social events.

In a word, due to the fact that Sharon displayed all of these symptoms she went deeper in her Internet search and found several blogs and websites that articulated different alcoholism symptoms and warning signs. One of the signs that really caught her awareness was the following: "Do you typically drink after promising yourself that you won't?"

Another alcohol addiction sign that grabbed her attention was the following: "Have friends aggravated you by condemning your hazardous and abusive drinking?" A third alcohol dependency symptom was the following: "Do you crave a drink when you first get up in the morning?"

The final alcohol dependency warning sign that made her feel slightly apprehensive about her irresponsible and excessive drinking was the following: "Has your energy shrunk since you started drinking on a more regular basis?" When Sharon read this sign she noticeably recognized that drinking had become a major problem in her life because of her diminished energy level and also because she quit pursuing her dreams and her passions.

After thinking about all of these hurtful alcohol dependency symptoms and signs, Sharon at first felt miserable. Then something amazing happened. She realized that she was going to see her physician about her irresponsible and excessive drinking and she also knew that she would talk about her alcohol dependency warning symptoms and signs.

In fact, for the first time in several months, Sharon honestly felt a sense of optimism because she was confronting her irresponsible and excessive drinking and was after all has been said and done ready to make the necessary alterations so that she could repossess the life that was slipping away.
