Longing For A Job, But Consciousness Of Being Victimized By The Job Market Devoid Of Confidence (Is There Any Additional Way)? Constant turnover in the job market is called "churning" and many jobless people feel victimized. This phenomenon regarding jobs is made by many developments and every age seems to search for easy explanations about what's going on in the job market. The popular "devil" is a not good economy, a complex turn of events being influenced by a variety of factors which includes mortgage failures, home foreclosures and financial mismanagement among big banks and Wall Street firms. To some extent, the American worker has a right to consider him or herself a victim of circumstances. The honesty of the circumstance, no matter how victimized you may feel, the bad guy or the devil is not going to liberate you or make things better. I know a guy that has posted well over 1000 resumes with not one single bite. It would seem that's all he knows to do in the current job environment. But I've got to ask him how many more resumes will he have to mail before he realizes he is doing a churning of your own? You know the old saying: if you don't want to go bats from doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results, then do something different. So what can a person do that's different? Sure, keep sending out those resumes, but remember this: not only are all jobs impermanent, but ways of securing employment also come and go and have a lifespan, which ends with, "The old way just doesn't work anymore." Here are some suggestions: - Insert a video of yourself on a website selling yourself and what you're capable of doing for others and in turn, compensation. - Talk to people, in other words, network, rather than of only sending out resumes. - Frequent job coaching groups and hear what others are doing different. - Build up a clientele for a skill or service you can provide and become your own boss. - Pay attention to job possibilities overseas. - Rather than looking for a job that will be full-time, with full benefits, think in terms of employment that are more like gigs, that is, one time execution of a service or task. A personal thing of mine that's different to do is obtain a coach who can help you imagine outside the box and be more objective about your situation. Some one else can always be more detached than we are about our predicament and thus contemplate more clearly about new ways to get money in this current new age of employment.
